assistant coach

The Lakers are seeking an assistant coach to help bring success both on and off the ice.

The ideal candidate is passionate, has exceptional communication skills and can demonstrate leadership in a team environment. You should have some prior competitive playing and coaching experience, and preference is given to those with experience working with student-athletes. Experience with hockey analytics and video coaching is a benefit. The Lakers practice 3 mornings per week and play games primarily on weekends. The 2021/22 BCIHL schedule consists of 4-6 exhibition events, 12 regular season games, and 4 playoff games. The Lakers roster consists of Junior B and Junior A graduates attending either UBC Okanagan or Okanagan College.

This is a volunteer position.

equipment manager

The Lakers are seeking an experienced equipment manager to work with the team and help facilitate equipment needs.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable in a fast-paced team environment and can think on their feet. Some prior experience as an equipment manager is important to this position. The Lakers will play their inaugural season this year, so this individual will help establish equipment needs and processes that contribute to the team's success for years to come. You will be an integral part of the team, and should be available for at least 1 morning practice per week, as well as all games during the season.

This is a paid contract position, the hourly rate is based on experience.  

medical trainer

The Lakers are seeking an experienced medical trainer to ensure the safety of the team.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable in a fast-paced team environment and can think on their feet. Prior experience in a medical training capacity is required, along with standard first aid and CPR certifications. An individual with the Certified Athletic Therapist credential is preferred. You will be an integral part of the team, contributing to the success of the program.

This is a paid contract position, the hourly rate is based on experience.  

BROADCAST COORDINATOR

The Lakers are seeking a broadcast coordinator to help establish a professional PPV broadcast for the 2021/22 season.

The ideal candidate should have experience with streaming live events and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment. BCIHL games are broadcast on HockeyTV, and the broadcast coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the broadcast team (including student camera operators, play-by-play and colour commentary) as well as the overall production for every home game.

This is a paid contract position, the hourly rate is based on experience.
